Gorsedh Kernow is to hold a small Bardic Ceremony
Gorsedh Kernow is pleased to announce that although the Esedhvos and Bardic Ceremony planned for Bude-Stratton has been postponed until 2021, they will be holding a small Bardic ceremony on 5th September 2020. This ceremony will not involve some of the usual features, but will include the roll call of those Bards who have left this year and the welcoming of New Bards into the circle. Our Member, Priscilla Oates will be one of those New Bards. They will be adhering strictly to government guidelines and limiting numbers, which means that most Bards will be unable to attend this ceremony and they will not be able to welcome the public to come and watch.
With this in mind, GK are excited to announce that the ceremony will be live streamed at 14:00 on 5th September on the Gorsedh Kernow website, so that as many as possible will be able to join online, including those in the Diaspora as well as family and friends of New Bards. Details of how to access the live-stream will be available on the website nearer the
time. We hope lots of people will join online for this unique event.
Gorsedh Kernow is very grateful to FEAST who have awarded funding under their Re-ignition Programme to make the live-stream possible.
Gorsedh Kernow exists to maintain the national Celtic Spirit of Cornwall and to give expression to such spirit, to encourage the study of Cornish history and literature, the Cornish language, to foster Cornish art, music, dance and sport and to link with other Celtic countries.
LONDON ART FAIR: EDIT 2021
Launching online on January 20th, London Art Fair: Edit gives collectors the opportunity to enter their digital viewing room and view exclusive works.
Our member, Jonathan S Hooper has exhibited at the Fair.
London Art Fair is traditionally the moment where the art year begins.
Please take a virtual look.
Please see St Endellion Festival on You Tube for actual times and particular events.
We have planned an informal get together in Russell Square on Saturday, 9th October 2021.
Arrangements are flexible in order to try and accommodate everyone’s needs.
We have chosen Caffe Tropea in Russell Square where we can sit outside if we want to. No particular time is set as we thought a time range would enable people to come and go as they want. You can join for lunch or for tea, or just chill for the whole afternoon !
We hope that members will feel confident enough to come along as it has been such a long time to have a bit o’ chat !
